The strength of the Youth section is improving gradually and whilst Chinese Taipei achieved a clean sweep, there was notable success for developing countries such as India who came 4th in the boy's Under 18 section as well as strong performances from establish tchoukball countries such as Switzerland and Italy.

President Chris Huang spoke of the values of the WYTC at the opening ceremony of WYTC:

"You young athletes are the future of tchoukball and the FITB is achieving great things to establish a better future for all players. I hope in the future each continent can hold the youth championships, enabling every country to attend. If nations focus on youth teams in the early stage of their development, success in the adult teams can be more easily accomplished."
