The International Tchoukball Federation (FITB) has officially become a member of The Association For International Sport for All (TAFISA). The TAFISA World Congress 2019 was held in Tokyo, Japan in November with the TAFISA General Assembly 2019 taking place on 15th November. FITB President Mr Fang Shen Szu represented the FITB, attending the congress and the General Assembly.
Following the recent acceptance of the Democratic Republic of Congo as an FITB member during the General Assembly this August in Malaysia, the activities in their National Federation (FECOTCHOUK) are proceeding at an amazing pace. On the 12th and 13th November, the first FITB C Coach course was held in the capital Kinshasa with the participation of local athletes and physical education teachers.
Chris Huang, Former FITB President from 2009-2017 visited Mongolia and Laos this April to run FITB C coaching courses. The C level courses are designed for new countries to have groups of people capable of teaching tchoukball to others. Chris was approached during the Asia-Pacific Tchoukball Federation General Assembly and was only too happy to assist these new countries in the development of tchoukball.
On the 13th of December, 2018, the first FITB C coach course was held in Portugal, at the secondary school Dr Ginestal Machado, in the city of Santarém. The course was conducted by the FITB Director of International Development Julio Calegari and participants from different regions of the country took part.
