Tchoukball memorabiliaFollowing the coaching course run the by the FITB in the Czech Republic, President Chris Huang and his delegation visited Switzerland from 01-03 February. President Huang was joined by Pierre-Alain Girardin, the current Swiss Tchoukball President as well as Chiara Volonté, FITB Vice President. During their stay, the group met with Michel Favre, the former President of the FITB and discussed the origins of tchoukball.

President Huang, a keen student of the history of tchoukball, interviewed former FITB President Favre, and asked him the history of Tchoukball before his involvement. President Favre had known the game's founder, Dr Hermann Brandt and had worked with him in the 1960s and 1970s developing tchoukball. President Huang's team took pictures of Dr Hermann Brandt's manuscript and founding document, and some memorabilia about the Tchoukball competitions in the early stage. The FITB hopes to establish an online archive of tchoukball history and these manuscripts and pictures will feature amongst the most important items in that collection.

On behalf of the FITB and its members, we would like to thank the President of Swiss Tchoukball Association, Pierre-Alain Girardin and the former FITB President, Michel Favre, for a well-organized and friendly reception.

The FITB is keen to establish more about tchoukball history, particularly in the early stages so please email us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. if you have any information you would like to share.
