The African Tchoukball Championships are taking place this week in Benin. Over the past few months, there has been an Ebola outbreak in Sub-Saharan Africa.  The FITB has been working closely with the organisers to ensure the competition can continue to run and with the governments and National Federations in Africa to ensure communication is as effective as possible.

However, the governments of some of the countries concerned have asked their athletes not to travel given the situation in the surrounding area. The FITB respects completely the authority of the African countries affected and regretfully understands that therefore this competition will be smaller than planned. Our thoughts go to all those concerned in Africa at this challenging time.

The African Tchoukball Championships continue to run and continue to be supported by FITB staff as well as the generous donations of the wider tchoukball community in Europe, Asia and South America.  Keep up to date with the latest information from the competition here.
